Dr. Dance is a doctor of clinical psychology, psychotherapist, educator, and leader in mental health equity based in the Greater Boston Area. His areas of clinical focus include psychological assessment and individual, family, and couples therapy in community and school-based settings. Dr. Dance provides high-quality, culturally responsive services, education and training, and is committed to diversifying the mental health career workforce to ensure equitable access to care regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, spiritual beliefs, nationality, or ability differences. Dance tailors his clinical treatment deliver to meet the unique needs of his clients. In addition to his own clinical work, Dr. Dance develops paid internship training programs for Black and Latinx high school, undergraduate, and graduate students. In 2019, Dr. Dance created one of the nation's first mental health career pipeline programs for Black high school-aged students called the Mental Health Advancement of Culturally Competent Education to Stop Stigma (ACCESS), which now operates in 3 locations and has served over 200 youth participants. In 2023, he co-founded the Building Bridges toward Equity in Early Psychosis Intervention Careers (2B-EPIC) program through Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (Harvard School of Medicine). Both programs are paid internships that provide Black and Latinx adolescents with advanced training in mental health literacy, career and academic exposure, research, and community advocacy opportunities.

In 2023, Dr. Dance co-developed a community mental health clinic and professional psychology training center through Cambridge Community Center (MA) that offers free psychological testing and treatment to families of communities disproportionately impacted by the pandemic. In addition to his work in the field, Dr. Dance is adjunct clinical faculty at his doctoral alma mater, William James College. Dance completed his American Psychological Association-accredited predoctoral internship training at the Center for Multicultural Training in Psychology at Boston Medical Center (Boston University School of Medicine) and at Harvard School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry as an advanced practicum student. His extensive training and service in the field of psychology includes inpatient, forensic, school, global-, and community healthcare settings. He also holds a Masters in Business Administration, which helps inform the organization development and program evaluation consulting services he offers to entrepreneurs, non-profit organizations, and businesses of all sizes. He is a native of Cambridge, Massachusetts and a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
